You already know something isn't working. You just can't see it clearly from inside the pattern.

You're not missing information. You're not lacking discipline. You've solved harder problems than this before, and you know it.

The issue is that you're trying to process too much at once, under pressure, filtered through years of identity and obligation. The thinking isn't broken. It's overloaded. And the patterns keeping you stuck are invisible from the inside because you're standing in them.

That's why the same loops keep running. Not because you're weak. Because you're too close.

The Method

The problem isn't that you need to think more. It's that you need to think externally.

Externalized Sensemaking is Brent Lupia's structured coaching method for founders and operators. It works by getting internal thinking into an external form, identifying signal markers like repetitions, contradictions, and emotional spikes, then mirroring back reality. Clarity emerges when thinking is externalized and distortion is removed.

Here's what I notice with most high performers who come to me. They can diagnose everyone else's problems with precision. They can see the pattern in a teammate's behavior, a friend's relationship, a competitor's blind spot. Then they turn that lens on themselves and it goes blurry.

That's not a character flaw. It's a structural limitation. You cannot see the frame while you're inside it.

Externalized Sensemaking™ is what I built to solve that. It's a method for getting the thinking out of your head and into a form you can actually work with. I capture signal markers, the repetitions, contradictions, and emotional spikes in how you describe your situation. I mirror back reality. I point out where what you're saying and what you're doing can't coexist.

The clarity isn't something I give you. It emerges when thinking is externalized and distortion is removed.

Why Me

I didn't theorize my way into this work. I lived the patterns I now help others recognize.

Brent Lupia is a military combat veteran and former overseas government contractor with 10+ years across Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan. He served as acting country manager during the Afghanistan evacuation in 2021. His neurodivergent pattern recognition is the foundation of his coaching method.

I spent over a decade in military service and overseas government contracting. 245 consecutive days in Afghanistan during COVID. An evacuation where I became the acting decision-maker because I was the one still there. Then a layoff that reduced eight years of sacrifice to a line item on a budget spreadsheet.

I know what it looks like when high performers co-author their own overwork. When the problem-solving high gets mistaken for alignment. When above and beyond for a job rarely returns what you put in. I lived that pattern three separate times before I could finally see it clearly enough to stop.

That ability to see the pattern didn't come from a certification. It came from being neurodivergent.

Communication was harder for me. Neurotypical people process social cues automatically. I had to reverse-engineer the entire system manually. Notice the dots. Connect them. Understand how things flow into each other. That manual learning path gave me something the automatic path never could. I can see the structure beneath how people think, communicate, and get stuck. I can tell you exactly where the gap needs to be bridged. Most people can't do this because they never had to learn it consciously.

I give my clients the same external cognitive structure my own brain needs. That's not a metaphor. It's the method. I deeply understand what it's like to need an external anchor, and that's why this works.
